This year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of China Radio International (CRI) as well as the 50th year when CRI set up its first oversea listeners' club -- Japan's Beijing Broadcast Listeners' Club. Up to date, we have 3,165 clubs around the globe, including CRI netizens' clubs. The oversea clubs contribute to spreading Chinese culture, promoting the CRI brand and deepening foreign friends' understanding about China and our friendship.
To celebrate CRI's 70th birthday and to foster oversea listeners' organizations and communities, CRI will hold the event entitled "Worldwide Celebration of CRI 70th Founding Anniversary and Selection of Top 10 CRI Listeners' Clubs" from June to December, 2011. The activity will be introduced through Internet and radio broadcasts and via multimedia platforms including images, texts, and audios and videos in 61 languages
To qualify, clubs and communities should regularly organize its members to listen to or read CRI programs, hold related activities to introduce Chinese culture, promote the CRI brand, and participate in and organize activities to celebrate CRI's 70th founding anniversary.
