South Korea is eyeing possible deliveries of Russian gas across North Korea.
Meeting with his American counterpart Barack Obama on Thursday in Washington President Lee Men Bek said gas imports from Russia would benefit Moscow, Seoul and Pyongyang. He also hinted that the lingering controversy over the North Korean nuclear program could jeopardize the deal.
During their meeting in August the Russian and North Korean Presidents favored the joint construction by the three countries of a pipeline across North Korea to transport Russian gas to South Korea.
