Podcast, streaming, download, mobile, radio - no matter how and where you listen, Deutsche Welle's English department offers you the latest news, analysis and background features from Germany, Europe and the world.

As the lingua franca, English is spoken and understood in many regions across the globe. DW-RADIO aims to serve an international audience around the clock. More than five hours of current audio material and one hour of background reports are produced every day. A five-minute live news update is broadcast every hour on the hour, followed by the news magazine Newslink or in-depth feature programs on business, science, technology, environment, development, arts, youth and sports.

Since 2009, the English department has worked bimedially in Bonn and Berlin, producing relevant news content for both radio and online.

News and current affairs

Stay up-to-date on happenings in Germany, Europe and the world with hourly five-minute news bulletins and four daily editions of the 25-minute news magazine Newslink.

Especially for partner stations, Newslink Plus is produced once a day. The 55-minute combines the latest edition of Newslink with highlights from that day's feature programs.

Newslink and Newslink Plus are available directly from the DW-WORLD.DE website and offered as a podcast.

Background features

Want to dig deeper? The background section of Deutsche Welle's English department produces weekly radio magazines that include sound-rich, on-site reports, in-depth analysis and interviews. They focus on globally relevant topics from Germany and Europe and convey the European perspective on international issues and values, such as human rights and press freedom.

All of the weekly magazines are made available to partner stations via Audio-depot. They can be listened to directly from the DW-WORLD.DE website. Many are also offered as podcasts.
